Educate. Support. Empower Neurodiversity.

Welcome to Behind The Smiles - a supportive and inclusive community where neurodivergent individuals can connect, share, and grow together.

Here, you’re invited to be your true self. Behind The Smiles is a space where you can feel understood, accepted, and supported by people who recognise the unique experiences that come with neurodivergence.

Whether you’re navigating neurodivergence yourself or looking to better understand and support someone you love, you belong here.

Our mission is to create a safe and empowering environment where you can embrace who you are without judgment.

Together, we celebrate every triumph, support one another through challenges, and remind each other that you are never alone on your journey.

Not sure where to start?

Our Neurodiversity: The Basics guide provides a clear, two-page overview of key terms, strengths, and challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals. Perfect for a quick, accessible introduction to support a more inclusive society.

Meet Nidhi

Welcome to Behind The Smiles! I'm Nidhi, a passionate neurodivergent advocate and the founder of this empowering community.

I am 23 years old, born in London and brought up in Dubai, studying Medicine in London. I enjoy working out as I believe exercise is so important for my general well-being and mental health. It is my time to think, refresh, and unwind (because asking an autistic person to sit and meditate is almost impossible). I also have a love for music as it provides me with the words I can’t always find to express myself.

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know Nidhi through her incredible website, Behind the Smiles, which is brimming with personal accounts, honesty, struggles and massive celebrations and achievements. As an Inclusion Teacher, when I approached Nidhi to come and present to our students, she never hesitated. She was delighted to come and speak to our school, generate awareness, answer questions and remove any stigmas related to neurodiversity and autism. She is honest, authentic and an all-round remarkable young lady. Thank you Nidhi. I really look forward to inviting you back to my new school in the near future and collaborating with you again.
